DOWSIL™ Smoke Seal 800SL is a fire-rated, one-part, self-leveling silicone sealant for linear floor joints and floor-to-wall connections in fire-rated floor constructions. The product is used as a smoke seal to help prevent the spread of smoke between floors in case of fire. The sealant is low modulus, neutral cure, halogen-free and self-leveling, with no tooling required. It provides good unprimed adhesion to many common non-porous building substrates and offers resistance to ozone, UV radiation and temperature extremes.
Important to know
The specific fire rating depends on the joint configuration, width, depth, substrate and backing material. For optimum adhesion on cement or concrete substrates, DOWSIL™ P Primer is recommended. The product is not recommended for use in confined areas without proper ventilation or in joints under constant water submersion. Before use, always review the SDS, product label and manufacturer’s recommendations.
