Thermalbond® V2100 Double-Sided Tape for Structural Glazing
A high-strength polyurethane foam spacer tape with adhesive on both sides.
Thermalbond® V2100 is used in two- and four-sided structural glazing systems as a gap-control tape for structural silicone. Standard V2100 configurations are supplied with black or grey adhesive on both sides, making the tape suitable for positioning glass or insulating glass units into profiles where a stable silicone gap is required.
The open-cell structure allows air and moisture to reach the silicone for optimum curing. V2100 is the higher-density series with greater mechanical resistance compared with V2200: density 497 kg/m³, hardness Shore A 35, tensile strength 1241 kPa.
Available thicknesses: 3.2 mm, 4.8 mm, 6.4 mm, 8.0 mm, 9.5 mm and 12.7 mm.

Standard V2200 configurations are supplied with black or grey adhesive on both sides, making the tape suitable for positioning glass or insulating glass units into profiles where a stable silicone gap is required.
The open-cell structure allows air and moisture to reach the silicone for optimum curing. V2200 is the lower-density and softer series compared with V2100: density 352 kg/m³, hardness Shore A 30, tensile strength 896 kPa.
Available thicknesses: 3.2 mm, 4.8 mm, 6.4 mm, 8.0 mm and 9.5 mm.
Difference between V2100 and V2200
V2100 is the higher-density series with greater mechanical resistance. V2200 is the lower-density, lighter and softer series.
Selection guide
Choose V2100 when higher mechanical resistance and a wider thickness range are required. Choose V2200 when a lighter, softer spacer tape is needed for structural glazing systems.
Where not to use
These tapes are not internal IGU spacer bars, not IGU sealants and not a standalone structural bonding solution. Compatibility with the structural silicone and other system components must be confirmed by the silicone manufacturer, and each structural glazing project must be individually tested.
