High-strength polyurethane foam spacer tapes for two- and four-sided structural glazing systems.

Norton Thermalbond / Thermalbond® series tapes are used in structural glazing systems as a gap-control solution for structural silicone. They help maintain the required gap between the glass element and the profile, while the open-cell polyurethane foam structure allows air and moisture to reach the silicone for optimum curing.

Thermalbond® V2100 and V2200 series offer low thermal conductivity and resistance to temperature variations, fungi and oxidation. Standard configurations are supplied with black or grey adhesive on both sides, while Thermalbond Xpress® TBX versions feature adhesive on one side and a low-friction coating to simplify glass positioning.

Applications

Two- and four-sided structural glazing systems, structural glazing façade and window system production, positioning of glass or insulating glass units into profiles where gap control for structural silicone is required.

Note

Each structural glazing project must be individually evaluated and tested. Compatibility between Thermalbond®, structural silicone and all adjacent components must be confirmed by the silicone manufacturer. These products are not internal IGU spacer bars and not IGU sealants.

In short: choose V2100 when a higher-density spacer tape with greater mechanical resistance is required. Choose V2200 when a lighter, lower-density and softer spacer tape is needed for structural glazing systems.
